Carnival Legend Alaska Repositioning Cruise From Seattle – Yesterday,  I went to Golden Gardens Park Beach, right here by our Cruise Ship Wave office in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle to see the Carnival Legend.  I took an UBER for convienence, and sat relaxing on an oceanfront walk park bench while I waited for Carnival Legend (see video below) to sail by the beach. If you weren’t able to see the LIVE Facebook video, I’ve posted another video I took below.

Carnival Legend was scheduled to be at Port of Seattle from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., having just spent the winter from September to April in the Southern Hemisphere. She then began a repositioning cruise to Alaska. The cruise ship actually left the dock around 5:00 and sailed by Golden Gardens Park Beach at around 5:15.

Carnival Legend called at Sydney, Australia on April 2, 2019, then she called at Noumea, New Caledonia; Port Denarau, Fiji; Papeete, Tahiti; Bora Bora and French Polynesia.

Carnival Legend then called at several ports in Hawaii, calling at Honolulu-Oahu; Nawiliwili Kauai; Hilo; Kailua Kona and Kahului-Maui.  Carnival Legend sailed for five days arriving at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on April 29. On May 1 Carnival Legend called at Juneau (Alaska), Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan before sailing to the Smith Cove Terminal at Pier 91 in Seattle, Washington. This is when her Alaskan summer began, ending on September 26, when the cruise ship repositions again.

About Carnival Legend

Carnival Legend is a Spirit-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line.  Built by Kværner Masa-Yards at its Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland, she was floated out on December 17, 2001, and christened by English actress and author Dame Judi Denchin Harwich, Essex, United Kingdom, on August 21, 2002. Her maiden voyage, Carnival’s first cruise in Europe, was a three night journey from Harwich to Amsterdam and return.

Eighty percent of Carnival Legends staterooms have ocean views and eighty percent of those have private balconies. She was the first Carnival ship to offer alternative dining options and an onboard wedding chapel.

Carnival Legend underwent a major dry-dock refurbishment in February 2014. In August 2014 Carnival Legend departed Tampa and made its way through the Panama Canal to reposition to Australia. Carnival Legend is the second Carnival ship to feature the Green Thunder at-sea water slide and is scheduled to sail seasonally from Sydney on 8- to 12-day cruises from September to April.
