
Cruise Ship Norwegian Bliss Plus Oosterdam At Port of Seattle – Happy Cinco de Mayo to all our Cruise Ship Wave friends and family. This morning, we were up at the crack-a-lacking to go down to the Port of Seattle for the arrival of Norwegian Cruise Line’s ship Norwegian Bliss as well as Holland America Line’s ship Oosterdam.
About Norwegian Bliss
Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship Norwegian Bliss debuted in Alaska in June 2018, and is designed for improved energy efficiency to meet Alaska’s environmental regulations. Norwegian Bliss was float out was on February 17, 2018.
The ship was delivered to NCL on April 21, 2018 where the CEO of NCL, Andy Stuart signed the ship documents where Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings Limited took possession of the ship and started its inaugural later on in the day.
While sailing to Seattle from New York, Norwegian Bliss passed through the Panama Canal and became the largest cruise ship to ever transit it. The ship arrived in Seattle on May 30, 2018, and was officially christened later that same day.
About MS Oosterdam
Holland America Line cruise ship MS Oosterdam a division of Carnival Corporation. Oosterdam is the second addition to Holland America’s Vista class of ships, Oosterdam is sister to MS Noordam, MS Westerdam, and MS Zuiderdam. The ship’s name is derived from the Dutch translation for the eastern compass point, and is pronounced “OH-ster-dam.”
Oosterdam was christened by Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands. The ceremony took place in Holland America Line’s founding city, Rotterdam on July 29, 2003. The event was held over three days of celebrations marking the company’s 130th anniversary.
