About Church of Scientology Ship Freewinds
Freewinds is 440-foot-long ship owned by Church of Scientology, home ported in Curaçao. The ship, in turn, is the home of the Flag Ship Service Organization (FSSO), a religious retreat ministering the most advanced level of spiritual counseling OT VIII in the Scientology religion.
OT VIII (Operating Thetan Level 8) is the highest current auditing level in Scientology. OT VIII is known as “The Truth Revealed” and was first released to select high-ranking public Scientologists in 1988,two years after the death of Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard.
OT VIII is only delivered to members of the Church of Scientology in one place—aboard the organization’s private cruise ship, the Freewinds. OT8 is also available in the Scientology Independent Field. There are a few advanced auditors that are able to deliver the level to those who meet the prerequisites.
According to the Church of Scientology website, “The Freewinds is a very special place. It is the one place a Scientologist may go and be certain he will be able to devote himself entirely to his religious practice and in the company of people who share his religious commitment and outlook on life in general.
Other religious programs conducted aboard the Freewinds include religious conventions and seminars for staff and parishioners from Churches of Scientology world over, as well as specially arranged gatherings of Scientologists from a particular country or community for a tailored program of religious services.”
