Carnival Freedom Crew Member From India Death Aboard – On Friday, January 4, 2019, crew member Charnel Rego, 43, from Malad west, Mumbai died aboard Carnival Cruise Lines ship Carnival Freedom. Rego worked as an Assistant Maitre D’ aboard the cruise ship. Rego’s cause of death has not been released at this time.
Charnel Rego was married to wife Carol and the couple had two children Cian and Cicacha.
A sailor’s death tribute was marked with a wreath flower ceremony at the Port of Galveston. The flower wreath was released into the sea by a group of Rego’s friends.
Carnival Freedom offers three different seven-night itineraries out of Galveston, Texas which all embark on Saturdays. There are two Western Caribbean itineraries with calls in Cozumel, Mexico; Belize and Roatan, Honduras the other Western Caribbean itinerary calls at Montego Bay, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel. There is a third itinerary calling at Key West; and Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas.
