Royal Princess Cruise Ship Murder Investigation Underway (see video below) – On Tuesday November 13, 2018, there were numerous reports confirming an alleged murder aboard Princess Cruises ship Royal Princess.

The passenger has been identified as Almarosa Tenorio, 52, who was a teacher from Spanish Fort, AlabamaTenorio was traveling with her husband in cabin M421, an inside cabin on Marina Deck 15.  A male passenger was allegedly arrested after other passengers told Aruban investigators the couple had been heard arguing around 0400 hours and he was seen choking the woman, then pushing her over the railing.

Royal Princess was sailing from Willemstad, Curacao to Oranjestad, Aruba when the incident took place. The incident was reported to the FBI and local police authorities Korps Politie Aruba met and boarded the ship upon arrival in Aruba.

Royal Princess was on an eight-night Eastern Caribbean cruise which embarked Friday, November 9 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida with calls at Princess Cays, Bahamas; Willemstad, Curacao; Oranjestad, Aruba and was seen off shore from Cayo Coco, Cuba on Friday before returning to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, November 17.

The incident allegedly took place on the Lido Deck located at deck 16 and the woman landed on a lifeboat at deck 7.

Local newspaper Diario reported, ” that a “muscular” man was struggling with the woman and suddenly began choking her. After that, he reportedly pushed her over the railing. The woman landed so hard on a lifeboat she shattered its windows. Royal Princess security provided the police with the video footage. There are indications that video cameras have captured the moment in which the man had pushed the woman over the railing.

Aruba Police (Korps Politie Aruba) have confirmed the tragic event and performed an autopsy, to determine the cause of death.” The autopsy determined that the “woman died of unnatural causes”.

A real estate agent passenger on the cruise who’s  from Haines City, Florida reported, “Unwanted excitement on our cruise. 4am on our way to Aruba the ship was woken up by two announcements for emergency personnel to go to Lifeboat #2. A man was seen strangling a woman that went overboard and fell onto the lifeboat and died. Once in Aruba we were delayed getting off the ship so that the police could board and investigate. The man was in custody and escorted off the ship. The room has been taped up for investigation.”

Oranjestad ArubaAnother passenger reported that by 5:35 p.m., local authorities had removed the body. One person who spoke with the Curacao Chronicle said, ‘We can literally see the lifeboat from our room. Blood and broken glass all over it.’ Others described the reported scene as “gruesome.”.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Southern District of Florida will likey head the investigation.

The most horrific cruise ship murder to date was that of new bride Darla J Mellinger on April 2, 2015.  Darla J Mellinger-Banner, 56 and John C Banner 56, who resided in Salem, Ohio, were found dead in their bloody cabin aboard Holland America Line ship Ryndam. John Banner had murdered Darla then killed himself.
