On Tuesday, around 1000 hours, May 22, 2018, Brian Lamonds, 50, from Greensboro, North Carolina went overboard (see video below) from a Carnival Cruise Lines cruise. Carnival Paradise was approximately 85 miles west of Fort Myers, Florida. Lamonds was reportedly on a cruise with his wife Kim Lamonds and partner Charles Gales when he went overboard.

Lamonds has been on several cruises in recent years. On  September 9, 2012, Lamonds was aboard Carnival Fascination with his partner and partner’s parents.

The US Coast Guard Key West watch standers said they got the call around 10 a.m., from the cruise ship saying a man was missing and reportedly went overboard from the Carnival Paradise.

A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew, an Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew and the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Isaac Mayo, homeported in Key West, are aiding in the search.

Carnival Paradise departed Tampa, Florida at 1600 hours Monday. May 21,2018 for a five-night cruise. Paradise called at Key West, Florida on Tuesday night, then was to call at Cozumel, Mexico on Thursday, before returning to Tampa on Saturday.
