As Winter Storm Oliver heads east to the North Atlantic, expect snow, sleet and icy condition for the northeast cruise ports (see video below) later this week.
A separate area of sleet, freezing rain and snow will also persist in parts of the Northeast, from southern New England across southern New York north of the New York City metro, northern Pennsylvania and northern Ohio.
Thursday night, that mess of snow and ice will spread farther north in the upper Midwest, and Great Lakes, with most sleet/ice ending in the southern Plains. Some lingering sleet or ice may persist in parts of southern New York and northern Pennsylvania.
If you are heading out for a Caribbean cruise from New York aboard Norwegian Gem on Saturday, February 24, allow for extra driving time and keep an eye on the weather forecast.
By mid week, wind speeds will be high in the northeast Atlantic and will likely cause some rough seas.
