According to local news, the woman had important documents in her phone which is why she wanted to jump off the Dali Camellia International Travel Service cruise ship.

Located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain in Yunnan Province, 300 kilometres northwest of Kunming, Dali City is the economic and cultural center of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. The area is surrounded by mountains and the Erhai Lake is in its center. Now days Dali has been a city combining history with modern times. It is divided into two areas- the Ancient City and the New District.

If you want to visit Erhai Lake, the ideal way is to go to Erhai pier to take the cruise ship in the north side of Xiaguan. Cruise ships usually depart every morning at 8:30. There are four cruise piers including Caicun Pier, Longkan Pier, Erhai Lake Pier and Taoyuan Pier and among them Caicun Pier and Longkan Pier are the most used ones to take boats sailing on Erhai Lake.
