Ronald Charles Chappell, 83,  from Ledyard, Connecticut, died November 28, 2017 after a long battle with COPD (see lawsuit info on Death’s page) and Alzheimer’s.

Chappell is a Notable Cruise Industry Death because he later worked and volunteered at the Mystic Seaport known as The Museum of America and the Sea until his 80th birthday. The Museum of America and the Sea is the largest maritime museum in the world and  is home to 17 historic vessels and a working shipyard, garden, seaport village and exhibits. As well,  Chappell ’s service to the community included 20 years as the chairman of the Groton Shellfish Commission.

Ron was a member of the Shennecossett Beach Club for 50 years, serving a term on its Board of Directors.
