On this day in cruise ship weather history, as we reported one year ago today, Alaskan Dream Cruises’ Admiralty Dream Captain Kenneth Adams, 47, from San Diego, California, who was originally from Affton, Missouri, was found dead in his cruise ship cabin on Monday, July 4, 2016 about 0546 hours.
The cruise ship was in the Chatham Strait headed for Pavlof Harbor for a day excursion, scheduled to arrive at 6:30 a.m. when Captain Adams was found unresponsive in his cabin and attempts to revive him failed. The crew notified authorities. Admiralty Dream made a detour to Angoon and anchored near the Angoon Ferry Terminal and Whaler’s Cove Lodge, 57 miles south of Juneau.
