An American male cruise ship passenger, age 61, has been reported overboard today from the Princess Cruises ship Golden Princess.
The passenger, reportedly boarded the cruise ship on Wednesday May 3, 2017, in Noumea, New Caledonia. The ship had docked in Moselle Bay at Noumea, which is the capital of the French province of New Caledonia.
Golden Princess was on a 13-night cruise which embarked from Sydney, Australia in New South Wales to several South Pacific cruise ports in the Coral Sea. When the cruise ship returned to Sydney, crew determined the American was not aboard.
After reviewing CCTV video footage, the New South Wales police and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority were notified the man, who was traveling alone, had jumped overboard.
When the name of American is known, the passenger will be added to the Cruise Ship Missing website.
