Passengers Mutiny in Wusongkou China – September 1, 2015
It was a ‘Damned If They Do – Damned If They Don’t’ situation for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL)’ Quantum of the Seas, when the cruise line put passenger and crew safety first, choosing to steer clear of Japan due to Typhoon Goni, instead calling in South Korea.
The passenger mutiny went on for hours with hundreds of passengers refusing to disembark, some having to be forcibly carried off the ship by crew. The cruise ship passenger mutiny delayed the boarding of passengers for the next voyage at Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal in the Baoshan District of China, following a nine-day voyage.
Numerous news agencies reported the mutiny, as did Royal Caribbean on their blog. The RCCL blog reported, “About 300 passengers from Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas had to be forcibly removed because they were upset about an itinerary change. Royal Caribbean had given passengers free Wi-Fi and lobster dinners during the voyage to try to make up for the change.”
This is what passengers missed.
