Tea Party Right Wing Political Group Loves To Cruise

Cruise Bruise: Records show Tea Party Express paid HAL $103k for six staff to #cruise on four consecutive cruises aboard Holland American Line’s Amsterdam. But, it”s not the only political party to cruise.

Sponsored by Young America Foundation Cruise (YAF), a conservative outreach organization, this 10-day South America cruise on the Crystal Symphony sets sail from Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires on January 3. Media Research Center Cruise: Gathering on Holland America Line’s Westerdam for a one-week Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale will be Tea Party Patriots and others drawn by guest speakers including syndicated columnist Cal Thomas, Tony Perkins of the Washington-based Family Research Council, former Puerto Rico governor Luis Fortuno and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. The Media Research Center Cruise embarks February 13, 2015,  fares from $1,452.

The former U.S. senator for Massachusetts and now a political contributor to Fox News, Scott Brown will headline a seven-day cruise from Miami to San Juan on the Crystal Symphony, embarking November 14, 2015, fares from $1,985. A Republican, Brown will lecture as part of Crystal Cruise Line’s Visions Enrichment Program, which encourages onboard discussions and debates.

The Nation’s 150th Anniversary Cruise: Past and present editors of The Nation, including Katrina vanden Heuvel and Victor Navasky, will be onboard Holland America’s Nieuw Amsterdam for a one-week Caribbean cruise, embarking Fort Lauderdale on December 13. Other progressive speakers include five-time presidential candidate Ralph Nader, broadcaster Laura Flanders and political blogger John Nichols. The Nation’s 150th Anniversary Cruise embarks Fort Lauderdale on December 13, 2015. Fares are from $1,889.
