Cruise Bruise Investigates has learned the cruise ship passenger overboard on April 19, 2017, was Daniel Godsey, 33,  from  Christiana, Tennessee. Godsey was on a Caribbean cruise with his wife Molly Jean aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Escape.

According to our Norwegian Escape schedule, the cruise ship embarked Saturday April 15, 2017 at 1600 hours from Miami, Florida on a seven-night cruise to the Caribbean.

The cruise ship called at Charlotte Amalie in St.Thomas on Tuesday April 18 after spending two days at sea. Norwegian Escape was in port from 0800 hours until 1800 hours.

While the cruise ship was sailing between St. Thomas and Tortola, Godsey went overboard in the middle of the night, around 0300 hours.

Norwegian Escape then called at Tortola in the British Virgin Islands on April 19, where Molly was disembarked. Norwegian Escape had it’s final called at Nassau in the Bahamas before returning to Miami on Saturday April 22 at 0800 hours.

His wife Molly was left stranded in the British Virgin Islands. His sister-in-law set-up a Gofundme page which states, “His wife was left in the British Virgin Islands, so the overboard can be investigated. As well, as the body be prepared to be returned to the United States this on itself is costing $6000-$9000. She is having to pay close to $200 a night for her Hotel and then eating cost etc.. it’s costing her a small fortune. I just ask that anyone that can help will find it in their hearts to do so. He left behind a wife and 3 kids and 1 grandchild. Please help in any way possible. All the funds will go directly to their account. Thank you so much for your generosity! ”
