Cargo Ship Fire At Suez Canal Entrance

Cargo ship Om-El-Kheir is ablaze at Port Tawfik, Egypt near the entrance to Suez Canal. Om-El-Kheir, headed to Cambodia, has been stuck at port since April due to transport papers not being in order makes the nature of the blaze questionable.

A Cambodian ship suffered serious damage by fire, Friday, while docked along the Suez Canal, the Ministry of Defence spokesperson said.

According to spokesperson Mohamed Samir, navy forces received notification that the ship was ablaze on Friday evening by Port Tawfik in the city of Suez, but the fire was extinguished by the navy.

The fire delayed cruise ships from entering the Suez Canal.
