Around 0400 hours on Sunday, January 25, 2015, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Boudicca cruise ship had an engine room fire while the cruise ship was sailing off the coast of Casa Blanca, Morocco on an 18-night cruise.

The Boudicca was stranded and listed briefly after the fire, with 784 passengers and 356 crew aboard, with some passengers voluntarily put on life jackets assembling at their muster stations in the dark.

Boudicca had departed Tuesday January 20, 2015 from Southampton, England with a port call at Cadiz, Spain on January 24 and a day at sea on Sunday January 25. Then the cruise ship was suppose to arrive at Arrecife, Lanzarote on Monday January 26 with cruise ship calls scheduled for Mindelo, Cape Verde, Praia, Cape Verde, and Santa Cruz, Tenerife off the coast of Africa before sailing north again for a schedule arrive to Southampton on Saturday February 7.
